The Los Arqueros development is a golf and country club close the famous marina of Puerto Banus. Set in the mountainous region of Benahavis, this estate has a golf course designed by Seve Ballesteros and a great driving range and quality golf tuition availble. The majority of the apartment developments there were constructed by Taylor Woodrow, the previously troubled construction company who diversified into the Spanish property market some time ago, including developments in Mallorca, Gibraltar and Elviria. After some close calls with their bankers regarding loan covenents they are now back on track, with their stock now looking relatively attractive over the long term. There are now many great bargains to be found within this development both from Taylor Woodrow themselves and also from private vendors. You can now find good quality three bedroom apartments for under €200k which is less than the developer originally sold them for. There are a number of specialist agencies operating there and also an excellent community forum that allows private vendors to advertise on, which means no agency commissions. There is a half completed shopping village, that will service many of the apartments when and if it is finished. There are conflicting stories about why work on this centre has ground to a halt, but hopefully work will resume in the near future. The only negative aspect of this developmenty is that you must have transport whilst staying there as there is no real pedestrian access out of the estate. That aside if you don´t mind having a car, you will struggle to find such high quality apartyments in a secure golf and country club at these prices.
