Hi,

I wanted to get some different opinions about some of the Real Estate "GURUS" that I keep hearing about.

Specifically Steve Cook, Ron Legrand and David Lindahl.

Everyone seems to have a package to sell these days. What is this Nouveau Riche thing? Is that like Amway for Real Estate?

It's one thing to read all of the advertising that people put out, but I'd really like to hear from some real folks that have experience with these people.

Is there anyone else I should be looking at?

Nouveau Riche is actually a University. It's like the Harvard of business. I'm not sure if it is just all hype tho. I don't know anybody who actually went to that school. Maybe one of these gurus did?
It's a online university, not an actual university. They offer online courses afaik and it's not restricted to real estate, I think they teach marketing in general.

Well if you search the Big G with "real estate guru" keyword, it will give you Phil Immel and his site: http://www.realestateguru.com/ as the top listing (at least with my database), and the funny is that I never heard about him before lol. Well maybe I'm still a newbie.
Phil Immel obviously did some search engine magic on his site, but it doesn't mean that he is the best Guru. It just means that he maybe hired some SEO experts to make his site appear on top. You know how much search engines can be manipulated these days.

I think that Guru-thing is just too hyped. You don't have to be a Guru to say something worthy. I think each and every one of us can contribute to the betterment of other agents, you don't need a website, a blog, or an ebook to do that, this forum would suffice.
I don't think anybody would label Steve Cook, Ron Legrand and David Lindahl as the Bad, the Good and the Ugly. Those words are just too harsh. After all we have our names on this forum, and we don't want those real estate gurus angry at us. :D
I agree, how about some real estate quotes from them instead? Maybe a few words of wisdom will do us some good!

Nouveau Riche says they are the "One-Stop-Shop for successful Real Estate Investing". It is founded by these Gurus: Jim Piccolo, Mary Piccolo, and Bob Snyder. So if you guys are gonna ask if any of them are the Bad, the Good and the Ugly, I say none, they are mere Mentors who earn a lot thru their site.

Forums are good, and yes Gurus are overrated. I don't expect a Guru or a Forum to feed you with everything I need to know. Experience, for me is still the best teacher, particularly in real estate, nothing beats experiencing first hand what it is like to sell, get rejected and all that stuff. You cannot learn that from any real estate school.

Yes it doesn't mean that he is the best Guru but not eveyone know SEO. I think not even half of the real estate agent population in the US know what SEO stands for. Truth is, when newcomers search for a Guru they will land into Phil Immel's site because of Google, and unfortunately, they trust the search engine more than you do.

In terms of looks, I think Steve Cook should be labeled as The Bad. Don't ask me who's The Ugly. I don't wanna make enemies. Hehe.
Ranking in Google and making real estate starters stick to your website are too different things. It's not enough that you have them at your doorstep, you have to invite them and make them stay long enough to make your sale. :)
