I cannot site a good example but in general you should build a design with a Direct Response System. A direct response design does only few things it gets your prospect to respond to buy or list a home with you or to to request further info from you.

incorporate a good copy and content. Use words that would trigger readers into "buying".
Provide key benefits and explain humbly why you are the right person to help them and that you are the best person for them. Remember you're competing against everybody else so you really have to stand out!
I agree with the post above. Also I think you need to give equal importance to design and the content. People won't read your content if they don't get attracted to your design, your design won't matter anyway if the content is trash.
what are you trying to do with the site?
No doubt about it, Indira, a WordPress Blog is the best kind of site from any way you look at it.
SEO and content management are both easier and much more effective with WordPress, and you can find just about any kind of Theme and Plugin to fine tune your Blog for the way you want to use it.
It's quick and easy to get up and running. All you need is a domain name, and most Web Hosting companies have a one click WordPress install through Fantastico.
Hope this helps!
