Investors primarily buy real estate for one or more the following reasons: rental income, appreciation and tax benefits. Rental income and appreciation can potentially be derrived through Cyber Real Estate which requires comparitvely little cash investment, incurs no real estate taxes or insurance and the transaction costs of buying & selling are far less. I would look forward to discussions on this subject and hearing the ideas and experiences other members of the may have had in creating income producing properties on the internet.

Very true, Gary. People are always attracted to a positive cash flow. What are these Cyber Real Estate Deals that you are referring to?

I believe I can help those looking to manage their own properties.

When you buy or sell securitized real estate, the transaction/closing costs are usually much less than the closing costs of physical property, there are no propert taxes, insurance, or maintenace costs for you to deal with, you can see exactly what your holding is worth on a daily basis and it's fully liquid and can be converted to cash in a matter of minutes. Also there are no renters to deal with. To me it appears that carefully selected secuitized real estate has as much or more upside potential as it's physical counterpart and offers all the advantages mentioned above and may provide immediate positive cash flow.
By Cyber Real Estate are you referring to purchasing virtual properties in a video game (like Second Life)? My concern would be spending real money on something that has little (if any) tangible value. The reason real estate (in the real world) is attractive is because you have land and a physical structure that are tangible assets, while your 'assets' in cyber real estate would be all goodwill. If you're interested in a simulated real estate environment online where you can PRACTICE buying and selling real estate (without having to dish out real money for it), I'd recommend the Real Estate Investment Simulator from www.investorheadstart.com - that would help get you prepped for buying properties in the real world without making too many costly mistakes. But as for investing your money in real estate, I'd say stick to real property not cyber property - yes, it is more expensive, but at least you end up owning something with intrinsic value.

Any website that attracts enough visitors to induce businesses to purchase advertising on the site becomes cyber real estate. It rents out space within it's structure just as apartment buildings or office towers lease space within theirs. With the right skills & knowledge, the cost of creating viable cyber real estate is miniscule in comparison to the cost of acquiring physical property. Building maintenance, insurance, interest, heating/cooling & utilities costs along with real estate taxes etc are virtually non existant. Our company develops, owns & operates cyber real estate such as DestinDirect.com which is a highly successful online property built around a small, well know tourist destination. This site absolutely has intrinsic value which has held up very well in the recent property price decline.
I also agree that cyber real estate is quite useful in such cases. There are some real estate cyber expert who understands how to use the latest real estate cyberTools and strategies to help you buy and sell residential or commercial/investment property in the most efficient manner ever designed - in cyberSpace!
Got it. I see. Thanks. I appreciate the explanation.
