Best legal entity

Ok,

I've been told a few different things by a few different people what business entity to run my company as.

For buying and assigning properties, an S-Corp

For buying and holding properties, an LLC

For a company that someday may be taken public, a C-Corp

Can I get a few people's opinion on the previous.
